INNOVATE Product is a future-focused programme for children aged 9 to 13, where bright ideas become real solutions. Through hands-on design, prototyping, and creative thinking, tamariki develop critical thinking, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills.
Children are encouraged to design with purpose and present with confidence, all in a safe, inclusive, and child-led environment. No experience is needed, just a passion for creating, building, and making change happen.
Children work through real-world problems using design-led thinking. They research, sketch, and refine ideas, learning how to create meaningful solutions.
Using tools like cardboard, modelling clay, digital design, and 3D printing, tamariki bring their product ideas to life and improve them through testing.
Children learn how to speak about their work with clarity and confidence, through informal pitches and friendly presentations.
Group work builds collaboration, leadership, and listening skills as tamariki co-create and develop shared product ideas.
Design projects are shaped by identity and experience. Children are encouraged to draw on their cultural background and community stories in their creative work.
Each term or holiday session ends with a chance to display their creations through exhibitions, videos, or in-class showcases, helping children take pride in their achievements.
